Now, we know that Anderlecht lost points to Charleroi it will be a VERY important game for Standard. Standard can finaly take the leadership and go next week to Anderlecht like leaders, very important for the mentality. I know, it's not easy to play in Westerlo: Brugge dindn't win there, Anderlecht lost there and Standard is now without their captain Conceicao. Still, Standard team is much stronger than Westerlo team, and very important is motivation. Westerlo plays for nothing, and in fact, they seems very tired and they don't play ???good???. Standard plays OK last games.
Standard won his game easy against Moeskroen. Result was ???only??? 2-1 but Standard was much better than Moeskroen. Especially in the first half they played very motivated. Moreira replaced suspended Conceicao and he played good, finaly he played at his level. In the second half, Standard played without inspiration, wasted a couple of BIG chances, and at the end Moeskroen scored a goal.
What did Westerlo at home against Charleroi? Nothing: no inspiration, no creativity, not good at all. Whole game they played very slow, missed some ???chances???, if you can call them chances. Charleroi played their game: good organised and that's why Westerlo had so much difficulties with this team. In Liege last year, Standard won with 1-0 but Westerlo last year was completely different with striker Coelho who played superb.
Standard is once agains in MUST win situation like Brugge and Anderlecht. Ok, it's a far trip for them, but with such motivation to take the championship after 23 years without a title..Westerlo plays for nothing, and they are no so strong anymore. I really believe in Standard, they played great this season, and they deserve to be the champions. I'll go for away win.
Standard: De Camarog is long term-injured. Sarr and Conceisao are suspended. Rapaic is injured.
Westerlo: Vanarwegen and Verheyen are doubtfull. De Wilde is out
